Trailer Armory: Purefoy And A Sword

Hey, do you remember James Purefoy from that sword wielding epic called "Solomon Kane," based on Robert E. Howard's classic pulp character?

You don't?  Oh, that's right.  The movie was never given a stateside release.  Probably for the best, actually, as it turned out to be a murky embarrassment for all parties involved.  Trust us Film Warriors on this one.  We love this type of sword and sorcery crap and even we were unimpressed.

Seems that Purefoy isn't ready to give up his blade just yet, for now he appears with shorter hair and in a Knights Templar uniform in Johnathon English's forthcoming "Ironclad."  He's charged with defending the last castle before London from the villainous King John (Paul Giamatti) and his army.

The film costars Brian Cox and the lovely Kate Mara.  With any luck it'll actually get a release date sometime this year, otherwise mister Purefoy might have to leave the sword behind for his next project if he wants American audiences to see his work.

"Deeds, not words..."

Didn't Mr. Purefoy play the Prince in A Knight's Tale? And wasn't he the hero in some movie with a dragon and a girl?

Seems like Mr. Purefoy might want to think about leaving the sword behind simply because he is in a rut.

Indeed. I didn't want to embarrass him further with his list of sword epics, but you have taken care of that for us.

Keep up the great work! :)
