The Endless Quest: Cinematic Year One

Today marks the one year anniversary of our cinematic journey as Film Warriors.  True that we had already been on this journey for most of our lives, but this past year of cinematic prose has allowed us to share that journey with you.

Although we began quietly last January 7th  with our declaration as “children of the blockbuster” (HERE),   it would still take a few weeks to get us up to writing speed before we could unveil ourselves to the world.  After one year and 381 posts we found ourselves with a loyal following of other film warriors who share our same passion in “questing for legend.”

We took on guises of lesser known film characters in which to convey our thoughts, feelings, and ideas about the images we see dance across the silver screen.  Behind those guises you’ll find Warriors with day jobs, families, and other responsibilities that extend beyond the theater.  Maintaining an active blog is no easy task as we have come to learn over the past 365 days.

Like anything else, it takes work, passion, and commitment.  We’re not here for the money (although we’re all not above cashing a check).  
We’re here because we love what we do, and we’re very good at it.  

Film is a part of our souls, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to express our passion within a venue such as this one.

As we embark upon year two of our blogging journey, we look forward to watching our fan base expand even wider as we continue to relate our thoughts on all things cinematic (and a few that are not).  We’ll be adding new categories, retiring others, feature more guest writers, and hopefully adding few new permanent ones.  

Audio will become an important part of The Film Warriors in 2011, as we seek to give a voice to our words and ideas.  We’ve toyed with this in the past, but have since retired those recordings in favor of some new vocal avenues.  Keep an ear out as you keep an eye on the blog.

Finally, we’d like to express our thanks to you, our reading audience, for discovering The Film Warriors amongst a sea of other movie related blogs and sticking with us as we continue to grow.  We couldn’t do this without your input (okay, we CAN, but it wouldn’t nearly be as entertaining), and we hope you’ll continue to express yourselves for this shared passion.
